Beach 'Bizarre'
I think all the pretentious glitz, glamour and the non-so-delicately declared aura of ‘paradise-on-earth’ of this place is really getting to peoples heads. Admittedly, Dubai has always has been a rich mans playground, what with its nature-defying man-made islands, its ginormic miscellaneous buildings gracing the highest arches of the sky, and its hunger for progression and competition. At least, that’s the very superficial observation. But most us fondly ignored these power-hungry traits. Of late, some cracks have started to appear the crystal clear veneer that is Dubai’s well-maintained global façade.
Apparently, the nest biggest thing is a beach with sand artificially cooled by underground tubes.
People are DYING because of diseases, natural disasters and starvation- all linked some way or the other, to climate change- and here we have the crème de la crème of the worlds wealthiest, frittering away the worlds depleting energy sources on ARTIFICIALLY COOLED BEACHES?
We are living smack bang in the middle of a DESERT.I thought the hot sand was the standard norm for beach-publicising holiday destinations? Apparently not.
HONESTLY, sometimes I really wonder what these people are thinking when they come up with things like giant REFRIGERATED BEACHES- people are seriously debating whether Palm Jumeirah is going to last very long, and here they are with the latest crazy.
Couldn’t they funnel all that time, effort, MONEY and intelligence into something that could truly benefit human kind, like say, an alternative energy resource plant?
Ok, honestly, Dubai really has seriously improved in terms of environment of the late, but it seems that sometimes they unknowingly spin off in the opposite direction.
Im sure most people would choose helping save whatever we have left of mother earth, than lazing about on some artificially cooled beach. Or at least, most people I know would.
But seriously, artificially cooled beaches?
EPIC FAIL.
